LYMPHATIC MASSAGE

The lymphatic system can simply be described as the rubbish collector system for your body. If you’re feeling sluggish, lethargic, bloated, retaining water, skin is dull it could be your lymph system isn't working at its optimal function. Lymphatic drainage massage will help to eliminate waste and congested materials in the body and reduce excess fluid. It’s a general clean up for the inside of your body.

Are you having surgery soon or have recently had surgery? Lymphatic Drainage is highly recommended both pre and post surgery. Many patients can experience discomfort, accumulation of fluid and bruising afterwards. During surgery lymph vessels are traumatised and the flow of lymphatic fluid is interrupted which can reduce healing. Decongesting the lymphatic system before and after surgery is important to help reduce soreness, swelling, bruising and increase healing.

So light and relaxing is the hand pressure used the treatment induces relaxation and a feeling restfulness.

ABDOMINAL/FERTILITY MASSAGE

Our abdominal area doesn't have skeletal protection, it is this open soft space which as a society can create an unhealthy image of what it should look like and for women what the area should be able to create, hold and carry. Anatomically if there is a misalignment in the abdominal region (digestion or reproductive organs) it can impinge circulation to the area which may result in reduced blood flow, nutrients and oxygen to your abdominal area. Abdominal massage is such a nourishing treatment, as a massage therapist I gently encourage my clients to allow me to come into their belly space as it also creates a strong sense of relaxation.

Abdominal massage can assist in treating the following symptoms;

  • Infertility IVF medication side effects

  • Endometriosis / PCOS Menstrual cramping

  • Fibroids

  • Mis-aligned womb

  • Abdominal congestion, Bloating and tightness, digestion complaints, Constipation

  • Sciatica pain

  • Emotional trauma

PREGNANCY MASSAGE

Pregnancy and Massage team up wonderfully together. Pregnancy massage is safe and effective during the whole pregnancy using the right techniques and supportive positioning on the treatment table.

Pregnancy massage has been shown to reduce stress hormones within a pregnant woman’s body and works very effectively on the nervous system to induce a sense of calm, which in turn helps mum to sleep better and help her little human (or humans) to grow.

I feel one of the most important benefits of pregnancy massage is to give a woman an opportunity to completely stop, rest, relax and allow someone else to take care of her.

BENEFITS:

  • Elimination of lactic acid and cellular waste that cause muscle fatigue

  • Removal of waste products through lymphatic & circulatory systems

  • Combats fatigue giving more energy and vitality

  • Relieves depression/anxiety caused by hormonal changes

  • Assists with backache, stiff neck, cramps, swollen ankles, headaches Increases blood circulation, giving mum and baby more nutrients

  • Promotes muscular flexibility. This being most helpful in the final trimester Soothes and relaxes nervous system tension, enhancing quality of sleep

  • Pregnancy Massage Positioning – Together we will discuss what positioning will be most beneficial for mum and bub during the massage treatment.

GLASS CUPPING

Massage and Glass Cupping are such a complimentary treatment together.

This combination of treatment can encourage blood & lymph flow, increase energy flow, loosen rigid muscles, slow down the nervous system, detoxify the body, assists draining excess fluids and lift connective tissue.

The glass cup/s can be flashed on & off quickly, remain in the same position or move to glide over the skins surface depending on the treatment goal.

Cupping can be included in your remedial massage treatment.

POSTURAL TAPING

This type of taping assists with reducing muscle pain & fatigue, reducing swelling, improved posture support, assist range of movement. The tape I use is hypoallergenic and water resistant. It is a flexible elastic tape which when applied allows you to still move freely and with all its benefits. Upper Back and Shoulder taping is a very popular region to tape helping with upper body posture.

Body taping during pregnancy can give well needed support to a body that is feeling a heavy strain during pregnancy. Taping can be applied over the tummy to help lift the abdomen up or applied to the back body for more support, especially around the lower back.  Postural taping can be applied at the end of your treatment.

SCALP MASSAGE

You may not realise the scalp and face can hold alot of tension from stress and poor posture.
This therapeutic treatment is focused on releasing tension within the back, neck, shoulders, scalp and face using various pressure, gua sha tools and lymphatic drainage techniques.
A small amount of facial oil is used for the face massage and scented oil for the scalp (your hair will likely have oil in it after the treatment).
Do you love that feeling when you have your hair washed by a hairdresser? This type of treatment is definitely for you if you do.
A mixture of massage pressures are applied during this treatment.

REST & DIGEST MASSAGE TREATMENT

The opportunity to truly surrender into a resting pause away from the world.

Your choice of massage and then at the end of the treatment you are covered with a weighted blanket, headphones playing slow healing sounds are placed over your ears, an eye pillow gently resting over your eyes to help with an inwards gaze, an aromatic scent lightly sprayed above you to entice your mind and body to slip a little bit deeper into rest. This will be a space created for you to fully surrender into restorative stillness. I leave the room to give you complete solitude and softly re-enter 15 minutes later.
